The Music degree program at Bushnell University develops foundational musical knowledge, strong performance ability, and technical skills essential for worship leadership and production excellence. Within a supportive and collaborative community of faculty, students, and industry professionals, you grow artistically, spiritually, and relationally while engaging coursework in music theory, worship theology, live sound, lighting, video production, and studio techniques. 

Choose between two concentrations: Worship Arts or Production to tailor your training to your calling. Through applied instruction, ensemble participation, and hands-on production experience, you’ll lead worship with confidence and excellence. Graduate prepared for service in church, studio, and creative arts settings where ministry, artistry, and technology intersect.

Internship Experience

Internships are a central component of the Music program, offering direct engagement with professional ministry and production contexts. You complete supervised placements in churches, touring groups, recording studios, event-production companies, or live-performance venues. These experiences allow you to apply musical knowledge, production techniques, and worship leadership skills in real environments while receiving mentorship from practitioners in the field. 

The internship builds professional readiness, expands your network, and helps clarify vocational goals within worship ministry, music production, and the broader creative arts industry.

Concentrations & Musical Ensembles

Prepares you for worship leadership in church and ministry settings through training in worship theology, musicianship, and team leadership. You’ll develop Christ-like leadership and discipleship built on biblical principles while applying a biblical theology of worship and the arts. Integrate scriptural, historical, and theological foundations into corporate worship planning while demonstrating advanced musicianship through technical skill, theoretical knowledge, and emotional intelligence.

Equips you for technical roles in live events, recording studios, and media production through coursework in audio, lighting, video, and studio techniques. You’ll design and produce digital media using current technologies and industry-standard tools to serve the church and broader ministry contexts. Plan and produce live worship events through team collaboration, technical excellence, and creative expression.

You may also participate in Grove Live Production, where you gain hands-on training in audio, lighting, and media support for campus and off-campus events.
