Bushnell Students Shine in Accounting with Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants Recognition
EUGENE, Ore. – The School of Business, Leadership, and Technology (SBLT) at Bushnell University is proud to announce the success of two of its students in the accounting field. Madison Clark and Christopher Rosebrook have excelled in their academic and professional pursuits, earning them recognition from the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and opportunities in their chosen career path.
“Madison and Christopher’s success in the accounting field clearly reflects their hard work, dedication, and the quality of education provided by Bushnell University,” said Shelly Hartzell, M.S.M., CPA, CMA, Associate Professor of Accounting at Bushnell University. “With our small class size and focus on practical application, and our relational environment, we believe our students are a cut above in their readiness to be prepared for the workforce. We are so proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in the accounting profession.”
Madison Clark, a recent SBLT graduate, completed a successful tax internship this past semester at Moss Adams, LLP in Eugene, Ore., and has recently started her new job at Isler NW LLC in Portland, Ore. In addition, she was awarded the SBLT’s Accounting Student of the Year for 2022-2023, recognizing her academic excellence and commitment to the accounting profession. Her achievements demonstrate the strength of SBLT’s curriculum and the dedication of its faculty and department. Clark was honored in May at the OSCPA Circle of Excellence Award Dinner in Portland.
Christopher Rosebrook, another student in Bushnell’s SBLT, is also gaining recognition in the accounting field. He received the William F. Holdner Memorial Scholarship for the 2023-24 academic year in the amount of $2,500 from the OSCPA. This prestigious award recognizes accounting juniors or seniors with a high GPA, a desire to become a Certified Public Accountant and remain in Oregon, exemplify a positive character and actively participate in extra-curricular activities. Dr. Latrissa Neiworth, Dean of the School of Business, Leadership, and Technology, noted that a Bushnell student had not won an OSCPA scholarship since 2017, making Rosebrook’s achievement even more remarkable. Rosebrook joined Clark at the Circle of Excellence Award Dinner in Portland.
The success of Clark and Rosebrook is a testament to the quality of education and opportunities available at Bushnell University. With a focus on leadership, innovation, and ethics, Bushnell’s SBLT prepares its students to excel in their chosen fields and positively impact their communities and careers. The faculty and staff are proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in the accounting profession.
