Compete at the Collegiate Level
Bushnell University offers 19 varsity sports as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC). Since the late 1950s, Bushnell Athletics has focused on developing the “Tri-Athlete” — emphasizing academic achievement, athletic excellence, and character development.
Beacon Athletics has a strong tradition of success, including eight national championships in men’s basketball at the small college level, a 2015 NAIA National Championship in Women’s Cross Country, eight Cascade Conference Championships, and 19 NAIA National Tournament appearances across multiple programs.

Tri-Athlete Model
University reflects our desire to see student-athletes transform in all facets of life; on the field of play, in the classroom, and as Champions of Character, doing all in a Christ-Centered fashion.
Above all, we desire to give student-athletes the opportunity to forward their progress toward achieving a maturing identity in Christ. By encouraging the pursuit of excellence in the classroom and on the field of play, we desire for our students to honor the gospel of Christ.

The Bushnell Athletic Department’s focus is on developing unity through Christ among our teams and all student-athletes. Faith, just like sports, is not a “solo” effort, but is meant to flourish in a community that will uphold and strengthen one another through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Through a multitude of service opportunities, we attempt to equip student-athletes to have a positive influence on their community both now and in the future. We exist so that every Beacon may be equipped to make a difference for Christ during their years at Bushnell and as a servant of the Lord wherever that might lead.
