Beacon Nights
On Friday nights, students can take part in Beacon Nights—fun, engaging events designed to bring the campus community together. With a wide variety of activities offered throughout the year, there’s always something happening here.
At Bushnell, students quickly discover a vibrant, built-in community where connection and engagement are part of everyday campus life.
Signature Events
Bushnell University offers a variety of signature programs that bring students together in community throughout the year. Events include Beacon Madness, Week of Welcome, Family Weekend, live music and entertainment, game shows, and a spring carnival, along with group outings to Portland Trail Blazers, Timbers, and Thorns games.
Students can also participate in experiences like Sophomore Year Experience, whitewater rafting, outdoor recreation trips, and engaging speaker events—creating meaningful opportunities to connect, explore, and have fun beyond the classroom.
Intramural Sports
Intramurals at Bushnell University offer a fun and inclusive way for students to stay active, compete, and build community. Whether you want to join a team or create your own with friends, roommates, faculty, or staff, there are opportunities to participate in organized leagues and games.
Students can compete in sports like volleyball, basketball, ultimate Frisbee, powder puff football, and more, along with access to outdoor recreation and fitness programming throughout the year.
Associated Students of Bushnell University
ASBU (Associated Students of Bushnell University) is the official student government organization serving Bushnell’s undergraduate students. ASBU represents student voices by collaborating with university administration, faculty, and staff on institutional decisions and student life initiatives.
ASBU includes three standing committees—the Activities Committee, Academic Committee, and Campus Environment Committee—each focused on advocating for students and enhancing the campus experience.
Each year, ASBU leads initiatives and develops new programs and services that strengthen student life and improve the overall Bushnell University experience.
Additional Opportunities to Get Involved
Clubs & Organizations
Students are encourage to participate in start clubs on campus based upon their interest. Our clubs are approved and recognized by the ASBU Student Government which also provides structure and support to each approved club.
Examples of current and past clubs include: the Art Club, Black Student Union, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the History Club, Mission Awareness, Just Dance Club, Nerf Club, Outdoor Club, Pacific Islander Club, Spanish Club, and the Veteran Affairs Club—offering a wide range of opportunities for connection and engagement across campus life.
Performing Arts
The Bushnell School of Music and Performing Arts is a vibrant community of musicians, creative technologists, and innovative faculty dedicated to artistic excellence and professional growth. Located in Eugene, Oregon—known for its strong performing arts culture—the program emphasizes mentorship, leadership, and hands-on learning in real-world musical settings.
Rooted in collaboration, creativity, and authenticity, students develop their craft through rigorous coursework and performance opportunities across a range of disciplines. Students can major or minor in music and participate in a variety of ensembles and musical groups within the School of Music and Performing Arts.
