Counseling Services & Areas of Support
Our counselors are prepared to help with a wide range of concerns. Research shows counseling can be effective in supporting issues such as:

- Assertiveness skills
- Anxiety and depression

- Other life changes and transitions
Services are provided by graduate students in the Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program under the supervision of licensed faculty and clinical professionals.

- We also offer tele-health options during open hours and on weekends.

Campus Counseling Center FAQs
The Bushnell University Counseling Center provides counseling services for adults ages 18 and older in the Eugene community.
No. Our counselors welcome individuals of all backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences. Counseling services are open to everyone, and no particular spiritual viewpoint is promoted.
Counseling sessions are provided by graduate students in Bushnell University’s Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program under the supervision of licensed faculty and experienced clinical professionals.
- $10 per session for adult community members (fee waivers may be available)
- Free counseling services for Bushnell University and University of Oregon students

Yes. Counseling services at the Bushnell University Counseling Center are confidential and protected by Oregon state law. Information shared during counseling sessions will not be released without your written permission through a signed Release of Information form.
As part of a graduate training program, counselors receive regular supervision from licensed faculty and clinical professionals. Session notes, recordings, and related documentation may be reviewed in confidential supervision settings for educational and clinical purposes.
There are limited situations where counselors are legally required to share information, including:
- If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others
- If abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, disabled person, or mentally ill person is reported
- If records are required by court order or subpoena
Privacy considerations may also differ in counseling involving minors, couples, or families. If you have questions or concerns about confidentiality, your counselor will be happy to discuss them with you.
