CORVALLIS, Ore. – Bushnell University was one of nine Cascade Collegiate Conference athletic departments that earned Presidents’ Academic Excellence status for the 2022-23 school year.
In order to receive the designation a department must achieve an overall combined GPA of 3.0 or better among their student athletes (men/women) that compete in sports that the CCC declares a champion in, and have 60% or higher of student-athletes who are eligible to receive Academic All-Conference (sophomore standing/3.2 GPA) recognition do so.
“Earning Presidents’ Academic Excellence designation is a great accomplishment,” stated CCC Commissioner Rob Cashell. “It represents the highest academic honor our departments can earn from the CCC and recognizes the outstanding efforts in the classroom.”
Bushnell is the only school that has garnered the President’s Cup in each of the last eight years that it has been presented in it’s current format. This year the Beacons ranked fourth among full member schools in the Cascade Conference with a 3.34 GPA, and ranked third with 68% of eligible student-athletes earning Academic All-Conference.
