Why Sponsorships Matter

Bushnell University has been transforming lives across the region for more than 130 years through excellent academic programs rooted in a Christ-centered community. Recognized by the Murdock Foundation as “a university on the rise,” Bushnell continues to advance its mission of fostering wisdom, faith, and service while preparing students to make a meaningful impact in their communities and careers.

With nearly 800 students, Bushnell serves learners from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. About half of our students are traditional undergraduates studying on campus, while the other half are adult and graduate students balancing their education with careers, families, and other responsibilities. No matter their path, Bushnell students are equipped to lead, serve, and thrive wherever they are called.

Accessibility and affordability remain central to the Bushnell experience. Nearly half of our students come from low-income families, and 98% receive some form of financial aid. In addition, more than one-third of undergraduate students identify as students of color. For many, earning a Bushnell degree is a life-changing opportunity that creates lasting impact for future generations.

Bushnell is also the most affordable private university in Oregon and one of the most affordable private institutions in the Pacific Northwest. Combined with an average graduation rate of just 4.1 years—faster than many public universities—Bushnell provides students with an exceptional return on their investment while helping them reach their goals sooner.

The Impact Sponsorships Make

The only way for the University to remain affordable is through the generous financial support of alumni, friends, foundations, and corporate partners. Each year, the University must raise approximately $1M in annual gifts to offset the financial needs of the student body. The local Eugene/Springfield business community has been a significant part of this effort because they believe in Bushnell’s impact on the region.

Some of the very concrete ways Bushnell University makes a direct impact in this community include:

Connect with the Advancement Team

The Office of University Advancement provides the stewardship around sponsorship fulfillment and is committed to honoring all our donors and corporate sponsors. We would love the opportunity to share more about the life of the University and some very personal stories about the ways we have seen Bushnell impact this community and the lives of our students.

We know there are so many valuable organizations to support in our area and that many programs meet urgent and timely needs. However, we also believe that investing in Bushnell University meets both pressing needs as well as represents a long-term investment in the health and stability of our community and region.

Our team would love to meet with you to explore the ways you might find your own place in the family of Beacons pursuing wisdom, faith, and service.
