About Gene

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. My desire is to be a Bushnell team-player and to be a productive CMHC team member. My passion is to be in the classroom with students. I am a student-centered professor. I love teaching CACREP Field experience courses, supervision, Group, Capstone courses and Diversity courses.

My journey is filled with adventures that include being a husband (35 years), father, family member, friend, business owner and a full-fledged academic. I am a Quinault Nation tribal member, a combat veteran, and a proud citizen of the USA. My hobbies include spending time on the Siletz River at our campsite and on the river with my wife chasing that elusive Nook.
