EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University proudly announces the reaffirmation of its institutional accreditation by The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), following a comprehensive site visit in April 2024. With this renewal, Bushnell University continues another seven-year cycle of accreditation. Bushnell first achieved NWCCU accreditation in 1962 and has maintained this prestigious designation for over seven decades.
Earlier this year in April, a distinguished team of peer evaluators conducted an exhaustive on-site assessment of the university as the final step of a routine accreditation cycle overseen by NWCCU, an independent organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a leading authority on accrediting higher education institutions. Throughout their visit, the NWCCU team engaged with institutional stakeholders to evaluate Bushnell University’s ongoing adherence to NWCCU’s rigorous standards.
Dr. Reed Mueller, Vice President of Academic Affairs, expressed excitement, stating, “Earning reaffirmation of our accreditation underscores Bushnell University’s commitment to academic excellence and student outcomes not only in the classroom but beyond them as our students serve in their communities and enter the workforce successfully.”
The reaffirmation of accreditation serves as a testament to stakeholders that Bushnell University has undergone meticulous evaluation against the necessary criteria essential to uphold its accreditation status. Throughout the current accreditation cycle, Bushnell University was commended for the significant engagement of faculty, staff, and students and their clear commitment to the mission, the successful completion of the Venture Forward Campaign, and the use of data-informed processes for institutional and programmatic assessment.
