EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University is thrilled to announce the introduction of two cutting-edge degree programs under the School of Business, Leadership, and Technology. Starting in the fall of 2024, students can enroll in the Digital Marketing and Digital Media & Graphic Design programs, both of which offer a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, preparing students for the dynamic and ever-evolving world of digital marketing and media.
The Digital Marketing program equips students with the skills and expertise needed to excel in the digital landscape, focusing on strategic marketing, analytics, and campaign management. The Digital Media & Graphic Design program hones students’ creativity and technical proficiency in graphic design, multimedia storytelling, and digital communication.
Christy Silverthorne, M.A., Assistant Professor of Marketing and Program Director of the two new degree programs, expressed her excitement about these innovative programs, stating, “It’s exciting to offer students the most up-to-date marketing skills and hands-on, real-world experience in the burgeoning fields of digital marketing and graphic design. The program will benefit the Bushnell and wider community with a focus on social good as we collaborate with nonprofits to put skills into meaningful practice. We’re looking forward to giving students the chance to excel in the field as well as make a difference in the community and around the world.”
What sets these programs apart is their unique focus: they emphasize social-good and nonprofit elements. Students will engage with nonprofit organizations throughout their studies, working on real projects and implementing digital and graphic design elements for these organizations. Additionally, partnerships with local nonprofits allow students to create short projects and conduct sprint testing, providing valuable practical experience.
Courses are led by industry professionals actively employed in the field, and the curriculum is tailored to incorporate the latest trends and technologies, ensuring students are at the forefront of the industry. Graduates will not only possess a wealth of theoretical knowledge but also hands-on experience, having been responsible for the outcomes of their campaigns and projects.
