Applying for Financial Aid

Graduate students interested in one of Bushnell’s online or in-person graduate programs can apply for financial aid.

  1. Apply and be accepted for admission. Complete the online free application here.
  2. Complete your FAFSA. The FAFSA is available beginning October 1st. Fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form using Bushnell University Federal School Code 003208.
  3. Apply for private outside scholarships. Private outside scholarships are available through a variety of local, state, and national sources. You can search websites such as finaid.org or look through Bushnell’s own outside scholarship, found below.
  4. Review and accept your award offer. First financial awards are sent in late winter and will list all Bushnell. federal and state resources for which you qualify based on your Admissions and FAFSA data. Also, remember to submit any additional documents requested by the Office of Financial Aid.

Outside Scholarships

Graduate students at Bushnell University do not qualify for university grants or scholarships. However, we actively encourage you to explore outside scholarships tailored to graduate-level studies, as numerous organizations offer financial assistance for your advanced academic pursuits.

Will the changes to graduate financial aid under the Big Beautiful Bill affect me?

For most of our graduate students, the proposed changes to federal financial aid will not significantly impact their ability to use federal funding to pursue school.

  • Students who enroll prior to July 1st, 2026, and continue in their program without stopping will be subject to the old financial aid structure; the BBB changes will not come into play.
  • Graduate students who enroll on or after July 1st will be limited to $20,500 in federal unsubsidized loans annually. This amount is more than enough to cover the annual tuition and fees in nearly all of Bushnell’s graduate programs.
  • After July 1st, Grad Plus loans will no longer be available. Grad Plus loans were optional, additional federal loans that students could take on top of their annual maximum in unsubsidized loans.

The new changes might affect you if:

  • You’ve already taken out graduate student loans for a previous program.
  • You plan to step out of the workforce entirely during your program and rely on loans for both school costs and living expenses.
