Accelerated BSN

Bushnell University’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program can be completed in 12 months through a full-time, in-person format. Throughout the program, you’ll complete classroom instruction, simulation-based learning, and clinical experiences that prepare you for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination and a career as a registered nurse.

The Accelerated BSN program is designed for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree or higher in another discipline from an accredited college or university. Applicants must complete all prerequisite courses with a grade of B- or higher before beginning the program. Applications open each December for both the fall and spring cohorts.

Bushnell University’s Accelerated BSN program combines a 12-month curriculum, small cohort sizes, personalized faculty mentorship, and diverse clinical experiences to prepare students for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination and a career as a registered nurse.

Students learn through classroom instruction, simulation-based learning, virtual reality experiences, and clinical practice while developing the knowledge, clinical judgment, and compassionate leadership skills needed to care for patients across a variety of healthcare settings.

Students gain hands-on experience through clinical rotations in a variety of healthcare settings, including acute care hospitals, specialty clinics, behavioral health facilities, community health organizations, schools, correctional healthcare, and the Eugene VA Clinic. Students also complete a 192-hour one-on-one clinical immersion with an experienced nurse preceptor to help bridge the transition from nursing student to professional nurse.

Applications for both the fall and spring cohorts open in December. The application for the fall (August) start date will close on April 1st, and the application for the spring (January) start date will close September 1st.

There are several required classes that must be completed before you apply to the ASBN program. All prerequisite courses should be completed with a grade of B- or higher.

In addition to tuition, students should budget for books and supplies, technology and student fees, transportation to clinical sites, and other personal educational expenses. Clinical requirements may also include items such as uniforms, CPR certification, background checks, drug screening, and immunizations. Clinical experiences take place in a variety of healthcare settings throughout the region, including hospitals, clinics, schools, specialty hospitals, and community-based care settings. Clinical placements may be located up to 75 miles from Bushnell University’s campus, and students are responsible for their own transportation.

Yes. Before beginning clinical experiences, students must meet all program and clinical site requirements, including current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required immunizations, a criminal background check, drug screening, and other health and compliance requirements.
